University of Birmingham’s Student Accommodation have a campaign to improve sustainable awareness and recycling with its students. Smartbags.co.uk has helped them create a bespoke Recycling Bag which they handed out to students for use in their halls of residence.
The clever integration of social media into something physical to engage and explain is what we love. Facebook and Twitter account details have been clearly printed along with a QR code. Students take more notice of a custom recycling bag like this than a regular bin and a sign printed and pinned to a board telling them how to recycle.
The use of full colour digital printing makes this recycling bag much more than a normal bin /refuse sack. The side panels explain what items can be recycled. One for cans, bottles and glass and the other side for paper, cardboard and magazines.
